Only shortly in Spain and like to see more than Barcelona? This is a great way to get to know the capital of Spain, Madrid. Leaving in the morning from Barcelona train station Sants, you reach Madrid city centre on a pleasant 2:40 hours train ride on the AVE high-speed train. Your driver picks you up at the Atocha train station and takes you to your 4-star hotel in the heart of town. After some free time for refresh and lunch, you’ll have time for a nice walking tour through the old part of Madrid, the so-called “Austrian Quarter”, with its Plaza Mayor and the Royal Palace, the former residence of the Spanish Royal Family. To strengthen you, we recommend having some typical tapas. Overnight at a 4-star hotel.

For dinner we can give you good recommendations of authentic castillian food, or do you prefer a few tapas at Plaza Santa Ana?! The next day you have time to explore one of the world-wide known art museums: Prado, Thyssen or Reina Sofia, or for shopping in the famous Salamanca quarter with boutiques from world top designers. In the late afternoon it’s time to return to Barcelona with the same high-speed train you came with!
